Hey Folks ,can anyone here from Washington state or Idaho fill me in on the knife regs . I've got an Izula, RC4, Spyderco Tenacious folder. I'm in BC and haven't been down for a few yrs and have acquired the above in that time,,,thanks

Seattle has it's own laws. Folder blades under 3 inches. Not sure about fixed blades but I suspect they are frowned upon.

I'm afraid you'd need a lawyer to know what is a legal carry anymore. In most areas you may be governed by multiple conflicting laws including fed, state, county, city, and even facility specific restrictions.

Even in states like Oregon which have state laws pre-empting any local regulation of "weapons", counties, cities, etc. will try to maintain their own set of rules. When challenged in court, these laws don't pass constitutional tests. I know I have the god given right to carry but I don't really look forward to being the test case.

I used to live in Idaho. I walked around with just about ANY blade I wanted to, BUT in the rural aeras, and small towns. I even yaked it up with the local sheriffs about a carry. Its kind of basic, If they can see it, No probs. Then again if you go to a Big city, say Bosie, Things change a bit. There is a BIG difference from living out in the edge of wilderness & Large citys. At a local small store The mom & pop small store where you go to buy your food for the month or week, I had seen MANY times 6 guns on holsters, and no one gave a glance at them. But I know that would be bad in the Citys. Idaho also had the largest population of carry concealed weps I know of. 1/2 of the elderly ladys (in my neck of the woods) carryed a handgun. Its kind of a bit of common sence thing. I don't know about Washinton? But I carryed there, (small 3-4 in. blades in sight on my belt ) with No probs, But that was away from the Big citys. As I see it Idaho is one of the USA's Last "Free" states. If I could I would move back there in a heartbeat. I used to sight in , and do my target practice in my backyard. (About 100-200 rd.s a week with dif cals) But just outside city limits. You can shoot in city limits if there is a threat, EX: wild pack of dogs, bear, puma, self protect form nut jobs. But still a common sence thing. Best thing to do is ask at each State what the locals do. They know whats up. Enjoy edgy

I moved to Idaho recently from California. From my reading of the knife laws upon arrival... Boise limits folder size (3 or 3.5 inch). Open fixed knife carry seems ok. Some types of fixed knives require a CWP. (see below).

(7)**Except in the person's place of abode or fixed place of business, or on property in which the person has any ownership or leasehold interest, a person shall not carry a concealed weapon without a license to carry a concealed weapon. For the purposes of this section, a concealed weapon means any dirk, dirk knife, bowie knife, dagger, pistol, revolver or any other deadly or dangerous weapon.

One nice thing about Idaho's CWP is that it's just that, a weapon permit.

If I remember right, what Washington offers is a concealed PISTOL permit.

Also, true to blue state / red state demographics, Idaho will recognize Wash.
permits but Wash. will not recognize Idaho..........
