I bumped into a Knife news site that talks about Case trying out a new pilot test run with a material called Dichrolam. Looks interesting to me because I like smooth bone or acrylics.

Anyone actually get their hands on one or see it in person? Case is going with their ubiquitous trapper model first.

I certainly can see some of the modern knife manufacturers jumping on it as well.

I love the handle material but hate the blade billboard.

A fun, or informative, or traditional etch is one thing, but who is telling Case that Pilot Test Run nonsense looks good? And save the bolster stamp for the barlows.

But the handle material is sweeeet! Put that on a medium Texas jack.

Interesting that they didn't put a shield in the handle.
Might be a good handle material, but the patterns are way to jazzy for me.

Or a Teardrop Jack!

It reminds me of the "Christmas Tree" celluloid. That stuff was pretty wild!
We need a modern version of Christmas Tree for sure!

I like it so much I have a Queen made Case large toothpick on my dresser so I can admire it everyday.

Interesting! I never heard of this before. Here is their website:https://www.dichrolam.com/
From browsing a couple of pages into the site I could see from examples this being used on a GEC 74 as the "new" snakeskin acrylic, or on a Case Tribal Lock in place of the current patriotic acrylic.

Or maybe the new snakeskin on the released Copperhead!
