Looks like you solved this question. May I just say that I bought my wife a cast iron skillet for Christmas and it is so awesome! She cooked some new yorks, seared on high on our gas stove for 2 minutes on each side, put whole skillet in the oven for 4.5 minutes at 425, pulled 'em out, most tender juicy steaks with the most flavor I have ever had. I don't even cook them on my charcoal grill anymore because they're so much better in the skillet!

You've a *very* nice iron skillet there. Wagner is the best. Lodge has been around a long time and Wagner is now out of business, but Wagner cast iron skillets were milled smooth at the factory while most (all?) others were rough finished.

I had an amazing 12" Wagner, but gave it to a friend who needed something. I now wish I had gone to the store and bought him an aluminum equivalent..... :grief:

I got a Lodge skillet and fell in love with cast iron. Stoped using any kind of none stick cookware. The best way to cook anything nothing sticks to the cookware and it taste great.
Can anyone explain to me why someone even invented the none stick cookware?? :barf:
