I think you got the millimg and blasting on the barrage just right to maximize the thinness of the scales.

My Bugout scales still stack up to any thus far....

Whether I make another set or not is in question.

Any of you guys like textures?

I'll probably come up with one or two more so people can choose whatever pattern they want for that area. Still need to get the full size/full thickness griptilian converted to the new cam software though, so that might be another couple weeks since I'm on vacation next week.

Those slimmed down, textured full size Grip scales look real nice. I think the texturing gives
the contouring around the front hardware a more balanced look. Interested in seeing the texture
options you come up with.

The traditional checkering pattern is fantastic. Would like to see it on brown/black micarta or G10 that looks like wood. Gun guys should love it. Your work is off the charts! How do you map a scale before you start modifying it?

Updated full size full thickness griptilian. Not a lot different but I can do textures and stuff now over the contoured surface. I think I have enough textured designs for the "inlay" area. Next I'm going to work on some textures to cover the entire scale.

I have attempted blackening titanium once before myself with only mediocre results.

Here’s 2 more Stag-a-like Crooked River’s
With blind factory mounts.

Heated the Ti with propane torch till glowing orange. Dunked it into windex with ammonia. Wire brushed it afterwards and did it around ten times. At first you get the colors of blues and purples but wire brush it real good to get the scale off and do it again. I’m guessing as the oxide builds up it gets darker. Not a lot of information out there on it, read somewhere they just did it with one cycle 1400 degrees and dunked it in windex cut with water 50/50.

I wonder if Benchmade will go truly custom if you contact them? Not just the knife customizer level, but actually build a one-off? Obviously, if you have the $$$ to pay for it...
