So I picked up a "well it's on it's way" a Multicam Batac and was wondering if anyone knows what's under the handle. Pretty sure it's g10 but since it's cerakoted black is it best to assume it black g10? or one day eventually after use when it rubs off am I going to be seeing something polar opposite like safety orange

I guess it is not coated. My Cerakote BJ from the previous Ganzaa was not coated under the handle.

I think he means what handle material is under the kote, as the kote is over the entire knife, blade grips. And all

I have been wondering the exact same thing. Could be any color or material under the coating. Also, the handles will be sand blasted prior to cerakote application. Unless someone at the shop remembers and chimes in, one way to know for sure would be to take off the handles and look at the back. Or maybe sand off a small area of cerakote on the top if you don't want to remove the handles.

I was able to see that one cerakote blade i had was black and tan g10 and another black and blue g10. Try looking under a bright light at the sides to see if you can see bands of color indicating multi-color g10. I also have a cerakoted knife that looks like micarta because of the rough texture compared to the 2 I know were g10.

Of the three knives I've blasted, they have all turned out to be black micarta.

I have one I've worked over pretty well and they are coated "over the top" after assembly unlike the standard coated blades from what I can tell. As for the material I've seen different things posted - I really don't know what mine is yet but it's not multi-g10 and it's not black - it's paper bag brown and seems hard as hell, not as soft as the micarta types that I have.

fingers crossed it's something black, either g10 or micarta. With my luck I'll wear the paint off the handle one day and it'll be safety orange or yellow

intended as a user so might just sand or scrape off some of the handles' paint around the rear talon hole and find out

with a Black, green and grey blade , if the black paint ever wears off the handle I'll have a full camo knife with every basic camo color from the crayon box . Also this is like my 16th+/- busse blade and 3rd done by garth and is definitely THE SHARPEST mofo I've ever gotten from the shop. If you can lay a kleenex flat and cut it into strips without tearing it... that's damn sharp .

Ndocyk can remove the scales, blast the paint off and hollow tube pin them back on for ya. If went this route I would also get him to coat under the scales to prevent rusting. N. Does top notch work.
