THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE, even if you only signed up for Bladeforums five minutes ago!
I made a knife, based on the votes in the giveaway polls I started in my sub forum. I am not showing you the knife publicly, though a few of my friends have seen pics of it privately. If I see even one pic of this knife published anywhere, the give away is off, so don't ruin it. I put a lot of work and love into this knife. You can learn a bit about it by finding the polls in my subforum where the details of the knife were voted on. Rest assured this is a "pull out all the stops" knife and should appeal to people with both modern, and traditional preferences.
The premise of this draw is that I will be sharing the two (worldly) things I love most with you, knives, and chess. Yes, you have to do a very miniscule amount of "work" as well for a chance to win this knife. Here is how:

Do the following on chess.com:

If you don't already have one, Create a chess.com account (it is free).
Friend me (my username on chess.com is David_Mary).
Message me your Bladeforums username, and that you want to enter the draw.
Play (at least) one game with me as white, and one as black, using this time control*

(we will work together to find time to get it done - my schedule is fairly flexible):
It doesn't matter if you win or lose. Just play to the end, be a good sport, and practice courtesy and decency in our interactions
(this is a strict requirement for an entry to be valid, although viciousness in your chess moves is allowed and encouraged!).
*In chess, the 15/10 time control means that each player starts with 15 minutes on their clock,
and after each move, they gain an additional 10 seconds. This system helps reduce time pressure
and the occurrence of blunders due to running out of time.
How we play can be decided by us individually. Rate or unrated, with or without chat during the game (for example, if you are really advanced, I would love some helpful tips and ideas during the game, if you want, or if you think I am more advanced than you, I would be happy to also share ideas and tips from what little I know).
As I receive games/messages of contest entry, I will post a screenshot in this thread of both the message you send, as well as proof that we played, like this:

However, because it is not about winning or losing, but just about sharing something I enjoy, in the hope of sparking the love in others, it will be truncated like this:

In order to increase the likelihood of any one participant winning the random draw, I am limiting contest entries to twelve. In order to encourage participation, I am also requiring no fewer than twelve entries for this contest to be completed. There is no expiry date on entry. The contest closes only once all 20 games have been played. Once each individual has played his or her two games, their contest entry is official.
If for some reason we have a hard time finding entrants, those who have already completed their entry have a vested interest in recruiting more entrants to meet the required quota of twelve total entrants, as the contest will not close, and the knife will not move until that has taken place. If we get more than twelve people sending messages of intent to enter, those after twelve will be treated like "seconds" in a sales thread that is SPF, and I will give a one week window for those who messaged first to complete their games or lose their place in line.
This thread will not be open to replies, other than my aforementioned posts showing who has completed entry. Once the contest has twelve participants, I will ask a Super Mod to perform the draw after encrypting and randomizing the entrants identities, per my usual process.
