Have you ever made one and were you pleased with it? I sliced some cheddar this morning and instantly thought, I need the correct knife. My steak knife had a lot of drag.

I made these in 2017 from 3V, only 0.048" thick. Using one in our kitchen ever since. It glides through cheese like you wouldn't believe.

Nice, think I'll copy you. Please excuse my ignorance, what's the forked tip for?

If you Google cheese knives you'll see it's a common feature. I don't use it much but I guess you can pick up the cut slice and put it where you want on a plate.

Yep. If you're polite you use the knife to cut the cheese and then pick to cut bit up with the fork to move it to your plate
Maybe a better word would be proper. I'm polite, but proper, ain't never gonna happen. I'm not proud of it but certainly not ashamed either. I think I'll leave the fork out of my cheese knife. I'd very rarely use it and it'd make it more work to add into the blade.

I've seen a design from a local(ish*) maker that doesn't have the little fork, which seem to keep selling out and being restocked. So it doesn't seem required

*Tasmania somewhere, so closer than Sydney
