Been sharpening / stropping on cardboard for a little while now ..
It works , butt & it's a huge time consuming butt! ( Yeah , slow going )
So I was wondering how to speed up the process ? ( Hmmm . metal polish )

After a little time on Utube , Autosol seemed to be the leading contender .. So I purchased a Tube .
Wonder of wonders , hell yeah ! It works ....

Cant afford a guided system ? Cant afford Japanese wet stones ? Cant afford a electric sharpener ?
How about a tube of Autosol ? & scrap cardboard ?

For the Vid , my Mora Robust ... I left the knife as is after slicing rope .
Just to see if I could Chemically Sharpen it ( Chem being Autosol )
Oh yeah ! Never done a scandi before using this method ..
I have cardboard stropped a scandi , but never with a compound of any sort . ( Just pure cardboard + leather )
The cardboard works - but is painfully slow going !
The Autosol is like a 200 shot of Nitro ...

So it works ! And for those people wanting to try hand sharpening on a shoe string budget ?

Autosol is an abrasive, so you aren't chemical sharpening.
a distinct compound or substance, especially one which has been artificially prepared or purified.
Hmmmmmmmm !?!?! ...

I think , it might be a compound artificially prepared ! So would it fit into the description of a chemical ? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ....
It is certainly a concoction ... It is certainly not a single chemical , but is a concoction of stuff ...
Yeah , I guess I was never big on science ...

Actually you do have Chemical cleaning , and those are not made up of a single chem / or element - but rather concoctions ..
Naaaa ! I like Chemical sharpening ! Sure it's an abrasive chemical compound ... What ever !

I mean, you may be sharpening using a chemical, but that isn't really what is meant by the term "chemical sharpening." The abrasive is doing the sharpening (mechanical), not a caustic chemical (non mechanical). I guess it doesn't really matter.

Another vote for same old sharpening not chemical. I could consider all my venev stones as chemical along with my stropping compound.

This thread would be defined by me as click bait...
