Been sharpening / stropping on cardboard for a little while now ..
It works , butt & it's a huge time consuming butt! ( Yeah , slow going )
So I was wondering how to speed up the process ? ( Hmmm . metal polish )
After a little time on Utube , Autosol seemed to be the leading contender .. So I purchased a Tube .
Wonder of wonders , hell yeah ! It works ....
Cant afford a guided system ? Cant afford Japanese wet stones ? Cant afford a electric sharpener ?
How about a tube of Autosol ? & scrap cardboard ?
For the Vid , my Mora Robust ... I left the knife as is after slicing rope .
Just to see if I could Chemically Sharpen it ( Chem being Autosol )
Oh yeah ! Never done a scandi before using this method ..
I have cardboard stropped a scandi , but never with a compound of any sort . ( Just pure cardboard + leather )
The cardboard works - but is painfully slow going !
The Autosol is like a 200 shot of Nitro ...
So it works ! And for those people wanting to try hand sharpening on a shoe string budget ?
