Anyone been to ChinaTown in Los Angeles before? I was wondering if they sell butterfly knifes up there. Or does anyone else know where I can get a butterfly knife in califonia? THanks.
 
I know a small cigar shop, which specialized in knives and swords too, in Monterey (central california), carries butterflys. I've been checking with them for the last 2 weeks, they've been out of stock since. I used to live down there a few years back and would occasionally check out all the stuff for kicks, and I distinctly remember them having them. I think they just carry china/taiwan stuff and maybe jaguars. At the time, I didnt have the *balisong bug* and passed them up.

There's a gun show coming up here in San Jose, from Dec. 2-5. Not sure if gun shows here in CA have that kind of stuff, but Im planning on checking it out anyways.

I would be interested to know if there's any shops in China Town, SF, that carry butterflys and other stuff (since I live in the bay area).

i never go to china down.the one time i went i went to this little junky store and asked if they caried balis.the guy behind the counter hopped over the counter and busted a jackie chan on my rear!oh well.o

I'm from San Jose.

This weekend, I plan on making a quest, scouring *all* of the shops in China town/SF plus other stores in the area, looking for balisongs. I'll report back my findings, hopefully there will still be a few shops existing in the parallel dimension

I've been through most of SF's Chinatown and didn't see any balisongs. I'm sure that some of the stores there have them under the counter if you ask the right way. I didn't bother because I figured all they'd have would be crap like most of the knives in Chinatown. (I have seen some nice fixed blades and swords there, but all the folders I saw were Jaguar & Master brands). We Be Knives on Pier 39 had Jaguar balis last time I was there, but they said they would not be getting any BM balis. BTW, does anyone know why Jag balis are of decent quality while the rest of their knives are complete junk?

I saw a Jaguar linerlock at a flea market for $60.

The guy said it was really good quality.

Right...
 
On Hollywood Boulevard, near the Chinese theatre, I've found 2 stores selling Jaguar and other balis. If you discover other stores, let me know, Little Chaozu, as I'll be in LA Chinatown on Dec 20th, for several days and like to get more US balis.
