I have one from MSC that looks like the same machine. It works fine, but note that it is manual feed and has no provision for coolant. I can tell you from experience that moving the table back and forth gets very tedious. However, the surface grinder does fit on my garage work bench and didn't break the bank. These days, I mostly use the surface grinder, with a tilting magnetic table I got on eBay, to taper tangs.

As for whether or not it's worth the money, that's really up to you. Mine is at least 20 years old, and I got it from a friend for a very good price. For the cost of a new one, you may well be able to find a good used surface grinder, particularly one with automatic feed an a coolant set up.

Now I think about to maybe import a used HARIG Super 612 od DoAll 612.
And was thinking about to use for cooling a vortex cold gun.

If I could get Łucznik SPH-1 into parts and take this downstairs to my "undergruond" workshop... Then I could get this for max 1.5k$ 500x200 working space with hydraulic feed.

Hey guys,

I was thinking from some time about surface grinder.

But from grinders what will fit into my underground workshop.
I'm confused. Why would you want to use a surface grinder in an underground workshop?
Are they even compatible?

If you have cyclone dust collectors, yep this can be used like in any closed space.
