Hey, i want buy a quality shemaugh, One that keeps me warm ( i live in switzerland, here the winter is really cold )
I want two, one low profil color for EDC (.white, grey or black ) and another with little more ''tactical color'' for the fun and for my bug out bag
My budget for that is more or less 30 buck
Any suggestion ?

Thanks all

I bought Rothco shemagh in OD Green probably 7-8 years ago for the same purpose to wear it as a scarf during winter months. After years of use and multiple washes, my shemagh is holding up pretty well, the color is still very bright and green, no tears or any damage. Rothco makes them either in India or China, it is good quality 100% cotton. I got mine from Amazon and paid around $12.

I really like my Varusteleka merino wool square scarf. It’s the size of shemagh and can be used like one but without the ”arabic looks”. It’s very warm. Comes in black and olive green.

Spartan Knives make a nice one. I have one and use it all the time, but it may not be warm enough for your Artic conditions.😁

I like buffs too but you really can’t beat the versatility of large scarf. For someone who lives in place that can get -30c and wind coming from large lakes the ability to create ”wall” of your scarf that captures your mouth fumes and heat makes big difference. Also it can be adjusted to your tightness of preference (good for wool itchiness).

Cowboys have been wearing silk wildrags (scarves) since there were cowboys. Real warm in the cold and cool when its warm.

It can get chilly sometimes when this is your corner office with a view:

We use to make them and ship them all over the world. Wildrags were one of the foundation stones of Horsewright as a business. We'd go to a show and the wife would sell around a 150 of them. Here she's digging through the silk in the LA Garment District:

Our dining room would become her sweat shop:

She doesn't make them anymore, she was having trouble finding the silk that made ours unique. She hasn't made any since the fall of 2019. But there are others out there, lots of other makers. Keep your eyes open, ya may never know where ya'd run into a Horsewright wildrag, like Norway:

Heck even places ya wouldn't expect:

Might give a wildrag a try.
