Does anyone have any info on the timing of when CRK will start rolling out Magnacut with more regularity and on more models? I assumed it would still be a while, but just saw a large Sebenza drop on REC (went fast). Curious if they're already making the transition, or if they still have years worth of s45vn to work through first? I know the transition from s35vn took quite a while and they were still releasing sprint runs in that steel as recently as last December.

Someone said they would have everything switched by the end of the year. Not sure if thats true of not. They were talking about it here.

CRK posted the Insingo and tanto 31s on Instagram and mentioned in a comment that MagnaCut is moving through the facility, but they are still using up the last of their S45VN drop point blades. The first batch of new fixed blades in MagnaCut is supposed to ship out to orders and dealers in a couple weeks.

I see Magna Sebenzas on the secondary market... Now that my ATS-34 and BG- 42won't cut any more, I'm holding out for the next steel after Magna, so I won't get stuck with crummy steel like before.
Ha, I think you better send those old junkers to me to properly dispose of :)

I've read by the end of the year and been told by a dealer it could take a full year or two before every model switches over.

Leftys? Or did the regular ones just sell out before I got there? I’m about a year out onan umnumzaam pre-order, really hoping they’ve switched fully over by then!

MagnaCut CRKs seem to be out in the wild. I am not great at sharpening, even after decades of doing it, and I’m wondering how people are finding MagnaCut. I can sharpen S30V sebenza ok, though not shaving sharp like I can 1095 and Vic and Mora stainless, which always bugs me.

Would love to hear some experiences.

I don't have a CRK in Magnacut, but I've sharpened two Spyderco Magnacut Mules with my Wicked Edge. It was a breeze to sharpen.

Sorry for the late reply Dudleyd Dudleyd , I've been on a climbing trip...
I can't remember but... a bit more than two months ago perhaps?

I remember visiting the CR page somewhat 2 months ago, saw that they offered the Sebanza Insingo and Tanto in Magnacut and placed an order. About ten days ago I got an email from CR stating that I must confirm the order so that it can be moved to payment and production.

Copy-pasted from the Email:
I'm reaching out to ask if you are still interested in purchasing your knife, the Small Sebenza 31 Plain Insingo (Gold Hardware).
We are ready to get your knife into production, which means it should be ready to ship within the next 4 weeks. Before we can start, we need to make sure you are still interested in purchasing it and confirm your shipping address.
If you are no longer interested in purchasing the knife, please email me as soon as possible, so we can contact the next customer in line. There are no repercussions for canceling. If you are still interested, please confirm the following address we have on file for you: XXXXXXXXXX
Once we receive the confirmation on your address, I will get an updated shipping quote over to you so we can collect payment and get your order and get it to production.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any further information, I'm happy to help.
Thank you,
Cher McKinney

Wow you got lucky. I placed an order for a Zaan in May 2021. They are filing orders now from Jan 2021.

I must have gotten lucky then johnnytoxin johnnytoxin . Perhaps a bunch of people placed an order but backed off once it reached to payments and CR does the most logical thing then; move on to orders from other folks.
I wrote back to the CR representative/sales guy, Cher McKinney, and he confirmed that the blade will be in Magnacut too. I'm pretty stoked, it'll be my first CR knife. I cross my fingers that they fixed the lock rock.

UPDATE
I received the knife yesterday johnnytoxin johnnytoxin
I hope your order will be processed faster than what you wrote above.
