Picked up a pair of ICWB boots for cheap, but they look like they have real potential for either a duty boot or just general purpose winter boot with the right socks. Reading the mil spec MIL-B-44426A it states these are chromium tanned leather. I figure since this is the most common leather out there that most products would be OK, but I would like to use the best product to the longevity of the leather since they appear to be stitch down construction and thus can be resoled if I ever wear them that much.

Currently, my go-to product is Obenauf's LP which is bees wax and a natural oil called propolis. I have been using this on my imported Danner duty boots with happy results, though you can't really polish over it. Before, I used to use the Danner silicone dressing followed by polishing. That worked just fine but didn't last very well in harsh weather. Would either of these options offer better longevity of the leather over the other? Anything better out there? I have used sno-seal in the past, but I doubt it is better for the leather though it holds up great.

Obenauf's LP is also my go-to leather treatment for most applications. I haven't found anything better and it is not from a lack of trying.
