I went to log in today and every time I did I got this message that two step log in failed?
Every time I used the log in numbers I got the same "Two step log in failed." This went on for quite a while until it finally allowed me access. WTF over?
Needless to say this was very frustrating.

I don't use two-factor log in, but I would make certain that you are using the latest numbers sent. System might be slow at times, so if you immediately jump over to email to get the numbers, you might get there before the numbers are actually sent. And you would be looking at an old set of numbers, which the system would reject.

Thanks for the reply. I don't use two factor log in either, but the site insisted I use it for security? Mostly I guess to prove I was the rightful user? I've deleted the emails but seem to remember this happened approximately 7 times?

Two factor log in is optional on BF. (I prefer to use unique 15 character passwords on the various sites I visit, so I have never enabled two-factor for me. )

You can disable it if you wish. As long as you use a unique strong password, you should be fine.
Click your user name at the top of the page, then click "password and security" from the drop down. At the top of the resulting page is the check box for two-step verification. Click change and you can revert to "user name and password" to log in.

Here's a good thread on passwords:

I use 2-factor and the same thing happens sometimes. With gmail it’s usually above the first email they send with the number that actually works.

Also, someone tried resetting my password the other day because I got the email for the 2 factor authentication code but I never requested it myself. Glad I have it.

I recommend you change your password.
Pretty sure the system won't send the code until you put in your user name and password. So if you got the verification code, then somebody else knows your password.
