Does anyone know where I can purchase clam knife/shucker blanks? I have been searching the web and all I can find are oyster shucker blanks. Appreciate any help or links... thank you!

Are you looking for a completely finished, heat treated blank, just to put your own handle on? Or one to finish, heat treat, and handle yourself? If it's the former, you might just buy one "off the shelf" and knock the handle off of it to make your own handle.

All that said, it looks like a pretty basic design anyway. I think it'd be a fun and worthwhile project to just make your own from scratch.

Pardon my ignorance, as I've never used an oyster knife, let alone made one, but wouldn't a blank for an oyster shucking blade work fine for a clam shucking blade? Is there really a difference? Someone...please enlighten me.

They are slightly different. Clam knives are straight and a tad wider and longer. My oyster knives all have a bent tip. I make a few straight for old timers who never say a bent tip oyster knife.

I saw a wooden handled Dexter Russel clam knife for about $10. Chisel, hammer and a hacksaw later you would have a blank.
