Cliff Stamp Has Passed Away

I saw this announcement from Shawn, DeadboxHero , on the Spyderco forum and am not sure if it has been announced here.

Cliff Stamp has passed away - Spyderco Forums

Love him or hate him, Cliff was a big part of the knife scene for many years, beginning, (for me at least), during the 90's.

We had many occasions while he was a member of these forums to converse as well as lock horns...he never made it easy on the mods. Water under the bridge.

That said, he gave a great deal to the knife community and the quest for knowledge about knives, their steels and their edges...whether one agreed with his take or his methods.

Ah Cliff, such a smartass! Sad to hear of his passing. He was incredibly opinionated, but always interesting! RIP.

Say it ain’t so!!! Damn. He was definitely opinionated (but that’s not a bad thing) and sometimes completely full of baloney, but ultimately I liked the guy.

Talked with him several times over the years, read tons of his reviews and writings, and watched lots of his videos. I’ll miss him.

I remember back in the day he gave me some really solid advice regarding a Wetterlings hand axe. He may have rubbed a few folks the wrong way, but I personally appreciated his knowledge and willingness to share it.

I've seen his name around here before, but idk he was Such a wealth of knowledge? That video was honestly, maybe the Best youtube video I've watched. Especially for newbies..... Required viewing!

It should be a sticky. I love it..

I've got a couple knives turned around like That.....
I was thinking of selling them here, and that's why I got the gold member status.
Maybe I'll hang onto them?
