Clipped inside waistband ?

I was wondering how many others here carry their folder clipped inside the waistband of their pants instead of clipped inside the pocket ?
I've never liked my knife clipped in my pocket , and have been experimenting with it clipped inside the waistband but with my belt over the clip .
So far it is working really well , its comfortable , it's very secure , not as obvious as having the clip showing on the outside of your pocket , and it frees up space in my pocket .
Does anyone else carry like this ?

I tried it. Carried it behind my hip.

Problems I ran into were:

1) I'd sit down, apparently push the knife up past the clip and when I stand up, the knife slips down my back.

2) When I pull it out, it often would be open. It didn't matter if I carried it tip up or down.

I used flippers if that makes a difference. Which I think id with issue #2.

Since then, I just put them in my right pants pocket.

Yes, but only when I pair up a small and a large(er) folder.

Have a Para 2 clipped in my pocket and my Military clipped IWB now.

I much prefer right front pocket for my primary folder. I have not carried a second large folder, my second knife would usually be pretty small so it would go in the left front pocket. However I like to carry my Leatherman Charge in addition to my primary folder and it works out pretty well clipped IWB.

I only resort to that option during the summer when I'm wearing basketball style shorts (or other similar summer shorts) without pockets of any kind. Clipped inside the waistband (IWB) is really the only option. It's usually a Spyderco Endura 4 FFG or Manix 2 Lightweight - both are light enough to work on pretty much any garment.

Yes, I do the IWB also. Approximately "appendix carry". :)

If I'm at work I usually carry my Gerber 06 Fast IWB, just because it locks closed and won't open, and I'll carry my Griptilian in my left pocket and utilize the extra space for small parts and carry my Gerber Suspension in my big cargo pocket. At home same deal except I'll carry a small fixed blade IWB (kidney carry all the time)

I carry larger folders and small fixed blades IWB often. Depends on my attire and where I'll be....more of a slacks/golf shirt carry for me.

As with clip carry, I think individual physiques and clothing styles determine the comfort, efficacy and success of IWB carry as much as anything...for most people.

This is very true, and it goes for concealed knives as well as pistols (and anything else you carry on your person). Different body shapes and types means that what works for one person may not work for someone else. Do what works for you and forget the rest.

I have noticed a few co workers that do it. Always thought it was off as knives are not forbidden in my workplace. Doesn't look like a carry method I would try, seems to me would be uncomfortable when seated.

Like I said knives are common in my workplace I have no reason to need a deeper concealment.
