coffee?

I'll get some knife porn up soon.

Got another glue up this morning, and a few *available* knives to post. (including my older daughter's first handle sanding help)

I'm working mostly right now on getting knives out, and trying to look at order priorities but it's taking a slight second to finishing started projects in the order I pick them up (all the orders are started, it's just that a lot of other stuff is also started)

The whole sat/sun/mon schedule is a bit rough on everyone, I'm amazed at how busy the "weekends" have been with jess getting stuck with more "extra" work training new nurses.

Here's some teaser pics of one that's available. I may try to wax up the handle a bit more, but I love the walnut.

(big, 12.5 overall, 7.5 blade, beefy comfy guarded handle.)

how much is that one going for? I have gotten a few of your smaller leukus lately, what a knife. What is the blade thickness and is it 1084 or 15X00, or whatever that steel is?

It's nominally 1/8 1084. I like the big luekus for some stuff, very handy for trimming branches down and larger food tasks.

Speaking of smaller leukus, this is a stead type with more handle. I really like this one, little 4 inch "front of a leuku" blade and a nice big handle.

Nice! Both those are sweet...probably all a person needs really...along with a SAK...and a dedicated folder, and a muk..and a Sgian Dubh...

Ahhhh I'm hopeless! Knife addicted!

SAKs... man, I love and hate SAKs.

I've carried a few models regularly throughout the years.

In the Navy I carried anything that had scissors, both openers, knife blade and corkscrew.

After the Navy, in tech work I carried the cybertool for a while, but after I left computer rooms as my primary workplace I mostly carried an Outrider. I've always placed importance on the corkscrew- it has some general utility beyond wine bottles and holds the mini screwdriver I love. But I can't count the number of times I was the only person with a corkscrew!

Once I started making knives I put a lot more focus on the SAK as an accessory to the sheath knife I always have on. So away went the Outrider and back to the slimmest scissors/corkscrew SAK I could get.

Letely, though- since I have beefy SAK in all the vehicles and around the shop, I've downsized. My EDC for a victorinox for a while has been one of the smaller ones. I tried a few and settled on the Minichamp. Despite the scissors being awfully small, it's up in the top 3 all time favorites for me. The mini phillips is workable for a lot of small tasks, the pen is always handy, I use the tweezers.... The orange peeler is the best tape cutter ever :) ---it's just great and has enough without being even remotely too big to carry anywhere

I'm still a SAK fan. Tinker is my current SAK de jour. But the small classic often finds it way into my pocket as well.

SAK- Classic in right pocket German Army in left. All day, every day. Damned handy to have around.

reno show. I was considering stopping doing the show since life is so busy with the kids getting older and jess working the saturdays and sundays. (plus, 2 of the 3 shows each year seem to occur on one or another holiday- veteran's day, easter, jess' birthday, or something)

BUt it's probably important i keep my hand in, at least for now.

So I'll be there, hopefully with more than 5 knives :D

Of course, if I sell everything before the show, then that's fine, too!

Orders are coming along, but I'm still in "top of the pile of heat treated blades" mode.

The leuku is a bog oak handle- bog oak is a bear to work with. It hasn't been oiled and steel-wool rubbed yet, so the bluing on the spine is a bit darker than it will be and the handle has no "pop" yet. And boy, does this stuff soak up oil! (Of course, it's not like it's a huge deal except in finish, the stuff is half petrified)

The cord wrap is a quick and simple mountain man knife, not my normal thing but I sometimes get someone emailing or looking and asking about a knife that could be worn with period kit. This one will do fine with the right sheath. Wrap is linen cord I made, soaked in tung oil.

The walnut handled one is another 15N20 "short blade, long handle" utility knife. Different blade profile from the straight spine one, but comfy.

The 1st and last ones are sweeeeet!

edit..same knife? ooopsss....

Iv'e been doing a lot of those types not fitting in a specific model category. They all grow a bit differently.

Irragation, produce co op, jess being at work. away we go!

Glad to see you posting again christof. I still love my leuku. it's a favorite woods pal of mine. and my bolochete (I think that is right lol) is a favorite around the yard for cleaning up trials and fence lines.

The first picture in the above photo's bottom knife with the solid pins? also 3rd picture down in hand shot? is it available?
