Cold Steel's new Balisong! Dubbed the Arc-Angel (I think it may have been influenced by Darrel Ralph. I haven't heard back from the big guy about this yet....)

4 1/4" x 1/8" Carbon V blade in either clip point or spearpoint shape, handles are machined titanium. Includes a pocket clip for ease of carry.

Anyone else think that this knife would be infinitly cooler if you had it differentially heat treated, with a visable temper line?

I certainly think that those suggestions would add to the look.

Any idea about selling price on this one, Dex? Not that I can own one anyway, but I thought that others might benefit from knowing.

I wonder if this is the secret project Darrel told me about a while ago. He said to expect some interesting things form CS!

All the other folders had 440A or 8A handles. Made me start to wonder if Cold Steel had some kind of religious objection to manufacturing a folder with a steel that can at least pretend to hold an edge :) Nice looking bali, too bad I can't carry them here.

[ edit: OOps! I'd missed the Trail Guide, also with Carbon V. Nice looking handle, and thankfully it's not a liner lock. I can forgive the blades for being horrendously ugly for the Carbon V and full flat grind. ]

Dirk - Darrel did design the handles (they are based on his forthcoming Gemini limited run).

Luku - you can find the arc angel for < $200 so it's priced pretty much the same as the Tachyon. Still about $80-$90 more expensive than the BM 4x series, but not as bad as it looks.
