A knife I have been looking at for years .. Well , since it became available !
CS FH - 4116 SS
This one was quite simply the cheapest one I could find on FeeBay , $56 Oz Bananas to my door !
Cheapest FH in the USA run around $25 American bananas , by the time you add shipping , you might get a $45 USD total . Or $71 and change in Oz bananas .
1st impression !
Grip is one or two mm too small for my hand , there is no wiggle room when holding the knife . ( Good or bad ? )
The knife is held in the sheath ( Gorilla Grip ) tight ! Pulling the knife clear of the sheath is a little like a tug of war . ( Good or Bad ? )
At least with the knife secured properly , there is little chance of loosing it !
But should you injure one limb ( arm / hand ) you may have trouble pulling the FH out of the sheath ! ( Good or bad ? )
The knife is not heavy , nor too light and the blade has more heft to it than a Mora ( no flex = I'd call that good )
Sharp out of the box , really sharp ! All that remains is to do some edge retention testing and see how it compares to Mora .
Well , with a BIG WET rolling over us ATM ( At The Moment ) it will be a few days for the weather to be cutting good !
300 Soft Fail or
350 Hard Fail
Looks like the edge began the scandi death roll ...
But still the performance was good , and the strop back was just too easy !
Processing gum was good and comfortable .
The spine has a good 90 deg edge , but was a little weak scrapping .
Ferro was good , but throws the ferro a little here there and everywhere .
Gives serious competition to a Mora .
This was factory edge performance after all and no tweaking .
So if you have a Mora itch ? Then the Finn Hawk might do a really good job of scratching that itch !
