On tosh.0 which is a show on comedy central they showed the cold steel promotional video for this sword. He thought it was cool so he bought it. The sword's handle actually released from the sword when he hit a log with it and sent the blade flying at his cameraman. I guess cold steel isn't as great as they claim. World strongest and sharpest my arse. (If you want to watch this episode its on at 10 pm pacific on comedy central

Tosh is hilarious but I think he was outdone by Lynn Thompson. I found the Cold Steel video even funnier than Daniel's version.

That was a pretty funny episode.

I didn't think it was Colt Steel though, I thought the blade flexed too much.

BUT, it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong

Freakin hilarious!!
I was going to post the clip, but I don't think they put them on the website until a day or so later.

Tosh.0 has to be the funniest show on tv right now.

I guess there could be some truth to their claim about being the world's strongest, sharpest knives. They use AUS-8 mostly, which is supposed to take a really fine and sharp edge, although it will be gone instantly. And they're strong in the sense that you can put pressure on the back of the blade like you aren't supposed to... in every other way, though, they seem to fall short. I'll have to find this video...

Haven't seen the episode, but CS swords are already overbuilt and too heavy to be historically accurate. An authentic great sword would be about 10 inches longer than the CS version for the same weight. Swords were not meant for hacking at logs. The great swords were used to cut the ends off polearms - that's a very large difference in the amount of wood one cuts through.

I saw this episode earlier. Great show; one of the funniest on TV.

It looked like the same sword that Cold Steel sells. I'm not that shocked that the sword broke. That camera man nearly died though.

I'm willing to bet that Cold Steel responds to this in some way.

Absolutely hilarious. I just watched it, and my girlfriend came back from her bath and asked me what the hell i was laughing at. I just said Tosh.0 and she understood. That show literally makes my sides hurt.

I saw that last night and thought it was hilarious. I'm not a CS fan but in all fairness I don't think that sword was designed to split logs.

It was designed to cut large slabs of meat, pig bodies, cattle skulls, copper piping, wooden posts, and car hoods.

Splitting logs is a bit too extreme, I agree.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to post a reference to this show. Pretty funny stuff indeed!
