I couldn't find the original thread so.....I found this on Gotham(Netflix). Two of my favorites, a beautiful knife and lovely lady. One of my most liked, the Steel Tiger. Kinda ignored them until I got to handle one and read the history of that style knife, now I have three of them.IMG_2077 - Copy.JPG

the Tiger Claw has appeared at least 3 times on TV, IIRC it was in The Man From Nowhere (but not in the Badass knife scene at the end)

It is a mean looking blade

The Steel Tiger was the weapon of the villain's bodyguard in The Man From Nowhere, and was indeed used by the bodyguard against the hero (who used a tactical folder) during the final knife duel.

I could swear I saw Jet Li using an old CS knife in a 1990s Hong Kong action film, but I don't remember the name of the knife model nor the movie. The design was in CS catalogs a LOOONG time ago.

IIRC, there was one or more CS knives in the movie The Fan, along with a couple Gerbers. I believe the CS in that movie was one of the tantos.

I remember seeing Chuck Norris using an early medium clip point Voyager in one episode of Walker, Texas Ranger.

I *thougt* I saw a large, black-bladed, clip-pointed CS folder in an episode of Chicago PD.

In the Chow Yun-Fat gangster movie Full Contact (1992?), the main villain, played by Simon Yam, had either a CS tanto or a close knockoff.

yes, my bad.
The villain's right hand used the Karambit in the fight, it's the main character's "tactical folder" that I couldn't ID.

Also, we've had several threads on the subject, it'd be a blast to merge them all into one and have an inventory, there's dozens of instances:

- The Defender in Platoon
- The Laredo, Gang Hatchet and others in The Walking Dead
- The Espadas in The Expendables
- The XL Espada in Savage Dog
- The Safe Keeper in Total Recall, and in Universal Soldier, Salton Sea, The Last Stand
- The ODA in Supernatural
-
The Ti-Lite VI in Safehouse
-
The Safe Maker and others in John Wick II
-
The Large Voyager in the last one from Fast & Furious
-
The Black Rhino in Prom Night, and the Black Talon in Vengeance
-
The Hold Out in Monkey Paw
-
The Safemaker in GI:Joe and
-
The Tantos in Ghost in The Shell and the Wolverine (in Japan) movie, and 12 Strong
- The Tiger Claw in Gotham (there was also a Spyderco Vallotton)
- The Double Agent in Arrow
-
The Sisu in Paul Bettany's The Priest
-
The Tanto and Counter Tac in Elysium
- The Rajah I
used by Lundgren in One In The Chamber

and there's countless others in lesser known shows and movies.
They do have many appearances and I don't think any other brand other than Spyderco matches it presence in TV, movies and popular culture (including comics, TV shows, documentaries and other media)

I looked for the old thread but couldn't find it so I started this.
PS- Didn't John Wick use a CS knife(s) or did they just look like a CS Model(s).

Mr. Wick uses a microtech otf. Not sure what model though but it's in both films. Cassian, the other big assassin in JW 2 is the one who uses a CS fixed blade, just not sure which model.

Now that you mention it I do believe there was a Taipan in Mr & Mrs Smith and ditto with Ghost, have to rewatch them. Good catch you know your movies. I have a few hundred Bluray/DVD's in the man cave, I will have to pay closer attention during rewatch.IMG_2124 - Copy.JPG

These two might be the original threads that nephron was looking for.

I've included them for reference. But since the first thread died quickly and didn't have any photos, and since The Peacent seems to have abandoned us, I think we can move forward here in nephron's thread.

This sighting is a bit obscure. It's from the British mystery series Inspector Lewis in an episode called "Your Sudden Death Question." The appearance of the Tanto is all the more intriguing since the knife has absolutely nothing to do with the plot!

How has no one mentioned The Crow? The first baddie that Eric draven fights carries/throws a bunch of cold steel knives.

I do remember the black guy with the leather coat having some tanto's IIRC. Have to dig out my Blu-Ray and check it out.
