I wonder the same have never been able to get a answer from Cold Steel on even the hardness.

It might not be the case with that CS, but one of the many reasons I didn't like Fällkniven F1 was because of the diamond checkering in the handle. Feels nasty. Yeah, sounds pansy but smooth is just.. smoother.
