I use DMT Diafolds in the field, and yeah, 3V does touch up pretty well, judging by my Benchmade Puukko 200 in 3V. I'm sentimental about Carbon V though; mine has acquired a nice patina over the years from field dressing and processing a number of black bears, mule deer, moose and caribou.
 
I've had one of these on backorder for nearly a year !

Doesn't matter how good it is , if it's never back in stock . :(
 
Thanks for the review. I own two of these, but they are the earlier made in Japan models with full nylon sheaths. They do not have a steel designation listed on the blade. They are New old stock, still in boxes, so I don't intend to use them, but I am thinking of buying a new one from Cold Steel to use.
 
I have a couple. only one in 3v though......good knife, good size...sheath.....doesnt matter.....everyone knows my thoughts on the secure ex sheaths.

My backordered one was ~$100 . 😭

That has been since canceled by the seller , because they don't expect to be in stock (or have time limit in backorder deals) ?

Anyways ...I would have gladly paid $100 for a 3V MH with NO SHEATH ! :cool:
 
The current production 3V Master Hunter is made in Taiwan and is the typical super thick spine. I ordered a 3V Master Hunter expecting to get the Italy version with the distal tapered spine.... but sadly got a thick prybar, so it got returned.
 
Does anyone know the current value on the Italian ones. I bought two when they came out one for my brother in law and one for moms kitchen and last time I looked before the Taiwanese version came out they were going for 500-600$

So , of course , I ordered one just now (and got some ammo too shipped free ) .
