I had no intention on buying a Pipe Hawk, simply because I don't need one. But when I was able to trade my local knife dealer for one, I figured what the heck. So, here it is.
Like the Spike Hawk, the Pipe Hawk comes with a 23" handle instead of the advertised 19" handle. I've learned that all Cold Steel tomahawks (including the older ones; Norse, Trail, Rifleman's, Frontier, etc.) will now feature the 23" handle.
Like the others, the Pipe Hawk is made in Taiwan and has the familiar set screw. For reference, it's a #15 Torx.
The poll on the Pipe Hawk is made to look like a peace pipe bowl; however, it's solid.
It's also flat and flush; not shallowed in like a bowl...
It also comes coated in the same black coating as the rest of the head...
I rather like this; it's a tad larger in surface area than the poll on a Trail Hawk.
In hand with the factory 23" haft...
The edge, compared to a Trail Hawk's...
And compared to a Spike Hawk's (the Pipe Hawk's edge is the first one)...
