Just got back from the cs sidewalk sale. I went with little hope of finding a knife worth buying, and I left feeling lucky. I bought two knives.

1. A Hai Hocho, which is a thin, fully serrated blade of 3.5 inches. I felt lucky with this because they have not made these for about a year now. I saw one at a gun show and the guy would not even let me look at it. He said it was a collectable and wanted an extreme price for it also. I got it for 20 bucks and will abuse it to the end.

Two is a shocker:

2. master hunter, carbon v, old leather sheath, and alittle discoloration on the blade. Not a second. The knife was unused with no edge damage no sign of resharpening. 15 dollars.:D

All in all I was at the sale about 30 minutes. Got a free lunch for a purchase. Hot dog, soda and chips. And left feeling happy I went.

I went earlier today. Yes, fatboy Thompson was there. No, he doesn't talk like that in real life.

They had some interesting wares, such as those discontinued Opinel style Twistmasters, in two sizes. They had some of those riveted wood handled Old Hickory-styled knives. And leftover Mini Bushman knives.

They had a small assortment of different Lasher machetes. I believe Lasher is the South African company that makes their machetes.

They seemed to have lots of used knives. Boxes of pre-thrown tomahawks, bad axes, shovels, torpedoes. Lots of used mid sized Voyagers, with the pocket clips sanded off(?). They had tomahawk heads cheap, and moving fast.

Prices on their new wares didn't seem all that earth shattering, but certainly cheaper than I've seen in local stores.

I got there at 8:00 AM there were about eighty people in line waiting to get in. It was not much of a sale a lot of junk and a lot of seconds. I picked up a second in a satin Gurkha Kukri with a nice leather sheath for one third the list price also a nice Pendleton hunter with sheath new in box for a good price. I was there about half an hour and left. It was worth the trip.
