Cold Steel Spike common problem?

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the Cold Steel Spike, drop point version, and the knife has a completely asymmetrical point when viewed from above. I returned it hoping for a replacement but was told all of the drop point Spikes they had in stock had the same issue. My question is, is this normal? I'm new to knife collecting (3 months seriously) so I don't know if it's standard for knives in that price range or if this retailer just got a bad bunch.

Cheers

This is a picture of a Recon 1’s tip when viewed from above, is this what you’re referring to?

Oh my, hahaha. Is it really supposed to be asymmetrical or is that a factory hiccup?

Don’t have a pic of it now, but the spine grind line on my Code 4 is askew. Looks absolutely funny. Definitely a QC imperfection.

Knife locks up like a champ though.

Thank you for all the feedback, I ended up just getting a refund, was surprised all the other DP Spikes in stock had the exact same problem. Anyway the refund money went towards a couple of Spydies... I may return to Cold Steel in the future as I still dig this little blade.

Cheers!

C’mon Mang! The Spike is basically a shank/shiv. Were you really expecting a refined cutting tool! LOL! Just messing with you😝
