COLD STEEL'S DEADLIEST WEAPON THE NATCHEZ BOWIE

Nice to hear from Lynn and Luke . :)

I'm even learning to tolerate Sticky . Long as he talks very little .

If you have the arm and wrist strength to properly handle this huge Bowie , it's hard to beat as a fighter , IMO .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Bit much for me , one handed , these days , to be honest .

New Natchez Bowie inbound? I’ll believe it when I see them actually for sale. Who even knows what steel? 3V, SK-5, O-1, ??? they’re on at this point? SMIII from Taiwan? Ugh.

Cautiously optimistic…

Does this mean that the G10 Espada XL will be back in stock? I need one of those because the expensive one is honestly too pretty to be carrying all the time.
I was specifically not on with new CS products after the sale but I'll be lying if I say this has not got me looking at it.

I would have liked to see the cable tang explained more in depth as well. Knife center has the Natchez listed on their website for preorder and lists the steel as 4034, which the best I can tell is close to 420HC in performance. If that proves to be the steel I’ll be really disappointed.

Supposed to be made by Fox, in Italy, in 4034, as well as CPM-3V. For a pure fighter/wall-hanger, 4034 is probably just fine. The Ontario Bagwell series was supposed to be made from some magical QS-13 proprietary steel. It was 440A, with a proprietary heat-treatment approved by Bagwell, meant more for toughness than for edge-holding. I imagine the 4034 blades will get a similar treatment. It's not a heavy duty chopper, unless you're talking about somebody's arm. Not even a pretense of actual utility, it's for making big holes in stuff. Nothing more. The cable tang is perfectly acceptable for this type of knife. And, for a knife that will likely never be used on anything more dangerous than a roast, or steak for fajitas, that's cool with me.

I got tired of waiting and ordered a Regent Bowie from Kailash Blades. Another pure fighter, but with a bit of actual usefulness built in. It's been this long, what's a couple of more months?

Might still wind up with a 4034 Natchez anyway...
