Colibri CX Gear lighter problem

I just got my Colibri CX Gear, this model below,
I've filled it up, but I think there's a problem with the trigger.
When I release the button, the flame keeps going for 2-3 seconds before it finally goes out.
That can't be right, right? The flame should go out instantly when I release the button?

Coult it be a "leak" problem?
 
I had the same problem with a different Colibri lighter. It would keep running for several seconds. Then one day it just up and stopped working completely (yes it had fuel). I've not had any other lighters that use a similar ignition system do that.
 
Once when testing it the flame kept burning for 5 seconds before going out. This one is definitely broken, I'm returning it...
 
usually that will happen if you crank up the flame too much on butane lighters. I'm running on about an inch of flame with my andromeda, no problems at all.
 
From my experience, Colibri is not worth it. Terrible quality control. All show, no go.
 
My Delta Windmill will do that sometimes after a refill. I have to adust/tweak the flame level, then it works fine.
 
return it.....colibri sux.

i've tried so many of the butanes, and went back to BIC. not very fashionable, but they sure are dependable.
 
Is this with the original gas or something you put in it? I had a Windmill Delta that ran great until I re-filled it. Then I got the same problem as you. It pissed me off so much I just threw it away and got a Brass Zippo.
