Hey all!

I recently got a Vietnam era paratrooper knife, and I noticed Colonial Knife Company makes a modern version of it and claims they supply knives to the US Military.

I haven’t heard of this brand before…are they legit? Anyone have any experience? How is their quality?

I’m a sucker for military knives, so I was looking to pickup their paratrooper knife and their stainless “general purpose” pocket knife.

Thanks!

Schrade have been around for a while, but they are horrible today…
Schrade has been out of business for some years now, and now it is just a brand name owned by a conglomerate and made in China.
Colonial seems to have knives made in the US and in China. From what I hear, the US made knives are marked Colonial Knife Co, the Chinese ones are American parts assembled in China and marked Colonial Company International, or CCI.

They are a legitimate company, I own several of their knives, both older and newer manufacture. The old original Colonial Knife factory closed down years ago, but the company still exists and apparently does make at least some stuff in the US although I have not been able to find out where. There is quite a bit of mystery surrounding the current company, but their knives are of good quality.

The company is still located in Rhode Island. As far as I know all but one of their current catalog of knives is made right there in Rhode Island. Their model 5200 Quick Flick is made in China. Check out their CE-100 and CE-400 fixed blade knives. They are awesome.
