I am wondering about a brand of knives I recently saw, Combat Ready Knives ( http://www.combatreadyknives.com/ ). I saw these in a SMKW catalog and didn't have any luck finding anything about them on google or youtube. It looks like they make 2 folders, a fixed blade, and a neck knife. Obviously not super high quality, but I wondered if anyone has tried any of these and what they thought? Total chi-com crap or decent for the money knives? Any pics or video would be great too. Thanks.

I've never heard of them personally.
But that neck knife... almost looks like a knock off of the Spyderco neck knives... the Spot and the Swick. Almost like they morphed the two together with aus-8 steel and called it theirs.

Dont know if they are crap, but they are most definitely Chinese designs with slight alterations. They are overpriced. One of their folders looks very similar to a Tac-force folder that sells for $9.

Where to begin about what is wrong with these knives....

"Machined blood groove cut-outs"....ninja

"Military grade desert camo pattern #550 paracord wrapped handle"....hilarious. "Military grade" paracord. Oy.

"Liberty is the natural born right of every free person. Sadly, freedom is never free, it sometimes comes with the biggest price of all: the blood of patriots. Patriots who always have and always will stand Combat Ready® to answer the call for freedom and justice for all. We proudly support our products with the same fierce tenacity as those who defend our freedoms; for life. Combat Ready Knives® products have a full lifetime guarantee, free of manufacturers defects, for as long as you own this knife. Period. Can I get a HOORAH?!"...offensive. :barf: Nothing like cashing in on the brave men and women who serve this country.

They do claim to be made of AUS-8...which I happen to like.

Mall Ninja through and through.
And for countries with intent/reason for carry laws, a knife with Combat on the blade has trouble written all over it

The little holes in the blood groove of the L1 Tactical WY6 Tanto Point Folder are awesome. For extra terrorist stab wound suction prevention!!

Though, they did put the required amount of letters in the model name to guarantee combat readiness. :D

What probably irks me the most about those knives and that web site...spattered with the stars and stripes; red, white, and blue; and eagles? I'm gonna bet...and call me crazy...I'm gonna go wayyy out on a limb here...that those knives are not made in America.

Blugh :barf: That things as ridiculous as the Combat Ready Brand Knives!

So you are implying that the Combat Ready knives are cheap Chinese knock offs of cheap Chinese knock offs?

I dont know about anyone else but i wouldnt trust that steel with my life. Just my opinion.

The Combat Ready Knives brand I believe are owned by SMKW. As I was watching the KnivesLiveTV show they have and these knives were mentioned as a project of SMKW.

SMKW, SMKW, SMKW ... I ought to infract all of you for deal spotting. SMKW is NOT a paid Bladeforums Dealer member but you're all giving them maximum publicity here. :thumbdn:
