Got some used pillows today for exercise, and soaked them in the bathtub while adding couple spoons of Comet. Effective way to kill fleas/lice/whatever else may be in there?

Thanks.

Straight up liquid bleach would be my choice, personally I'd just go find some $5 new pillows, just to be safe and all.

 on both parts
I'd even spend $6! besides you don't want some soggy pillows to grow mold?

Well, I soaked them in the Comet stuff overnight, and left them outside to dry, which is a slow process for pillows. After they were half-dry, I noticed they were loaded with the white powder. So, I took them to the laundromat (at least I was smart enough to not use my own washer) and rinsed the bleach out. I think I killed the bugs, if there were any.

You can purchase new pillows for very little, not something I would buy used but that's up to you I guess.

I would go with bleach to kill everything, then wash them and dry them on high heat to kill anything left.

Comet?!? That's for cleaning toilets and sinks, SkinnyJoe!

Look, I'll pick up any decent clothes or hats I find on the road. Just last winter I found a sweet black knit cap in the grocery store parking lot. All you gotta do is buy yourself some color safe bleach (I prefer Tide) and wash it once using the hot setting. Any pesky critters that might've been there are gone, along with the dirt. Piece of cake! :)
