Haven't seen a post about this Sprint Run yet. Wondering if anyone else has this on pre-order. This will be my first Manix 2.

Holy cow! That s an expensive Manix 2! Does that steel and carbon fiber add that much to the cost of a g10
s30v knife?

I've had a pre-order in for a while but it's been getting pushed back. It is expensive but worth it in my mind.

It's a cool "look what we can do" concept but clading a high performance stainless steel with a less high performance stainless steel just doesn't have me going for the wallet. Keep pushing the envelope and innovate though, love seeing new stuff.

I don't think that's true carbon fiber, either, that looks like the same carbon fiber laminate over G10 that's on the Dice and the Domino.

Same. I like that they try stuff like this, but the dual steel sandwich doesn't do much for me.

I doubt that. They don't do that with the USA Spydercos . If it's the peel ply stuff then it's real Carbon fiber all through. The M4 cf paramilitary 2 is solid cf

Agreed, the S90V Maxix 2 XL and PM2 have peel ply cf but it's not cf/g10 laminate.

Yup. I see people confuse the laminate CF and peel ply CF a lot (understandably). The peel ply Carbon Fiber is 100% CF, "peel ply" refers to the texture they put over it to add traction.

I just recieved email from knifecenter that my SP101CFPE2 is on its way! I placed order in February of 2016.

what is good about sandwiching two steels on a folding knife like this size? I mean, for larger kitchen knives, I can understand the reasoning but smaller folders come on.

I was wondering the same thing. I understand why they did it with the Delica that has Hap40, but am wondering why with S90V. S90V is stainless, so what is the point of doing this? This may be a dumb question, but someone please educate me on this.....

I'm not sure of the actual benefits of fusing both (great) steels together for the blade.

But I AM sure that I want this Manix.

This is not expensive like others are suggesting. Maybe out of your price range but not for the materials offered and the limited quantity that are being made.

I too don't understand the steel choice for a pocket knife that's not being used for chopping. In any case it makes it rare and collectable. High value.

It's a cool tech demonstration on fusing the two steels, but I can't see anything it would do better than my S90V CF Manix 2. It is going to be limited and probably do well holding its value though.

Oddly enough, cladding the center S90V component with CPM154 actually made it less stainless overall as a blade. CPM154 has good stain resistance, but not nearly as good as S90V.
