Hi, I've got another excellent knife to offer up for sale today. The blade is made from W's damascus, each W layer has 32 layers of alternating 1084 and 15n20, and there are 64 total layers of W's. I bias laddered the billet to reveal the W's and create an interesting wavy pattern. The grind is 10" hollow on the belly of the blade, evolving to a convex flat grind at the tip. This creates a very light blade with a fine edge, but still leaves enough meat at the tip for stabbing. There is a small swedge that runs most of the length of the blade, it is unsharpened. The tang is steeply tapered back into the handle to further improve the weight and balance of the blade, and the spine is etched all the way back into the handle for a neat visual effect. The handle itseis a nice cut of african blackwood, buffed to a high finish, and features a mosaic pin. The blade comes fully sharpened and includes a hand tooled black leather sheath suitable for vertical carry.

OAL: 9.25"
Blade Length: 5"
Blade Width: 7/8"
Blade Thickness: 3/16"

Down below are some pictures, you can also take a look at my instagram for video of the blade and sheath here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CAYbHYjgZwC/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

I'm asking $360 USD for the whole package, and that includes shipping in the US. If you are located outside the US I'm sure I can work something out :)
First to say "I'll take it!" gets it, you can contact me via PM or by me email YozakuraForge@gmail.com
Let me know what you think down in the comments!

Thanks for looking,

Thanks! I have XXL hands myself so I get the struggle :D
I am open for custom orders if you are looking for something similar... ;)

Thanks for reaching out kiku!
I have zero experience working with M390 unfortunately :(
In reading through the requirements for the knife that you want, I think you might be better off searching for makers that use and heat treat SS often instead of looking for makers who produce kwaiken. Imo the aspects of your order that will be most difficult for makers here will be heat treating m390, and applying a mirror finish all the way to edge. The actual blade profile and grind I don't think is particularly difficult. I would recommend potentially reaching out to Carl Colson on BF, he is an incredibly accomplished smith who is comfortable with SS, mirror finishes, and does some great grinds. His style is quite different from the knife you are looking for, but he might at least know of some people who are able to help you out. You could also try BenR.T. on BF, I don't think he typically does mirror finishes, but his style is really similar to the picture of the knife you showed and he almost exclusively uses SS I think. Both are great makers and can probably help.

If you have any other questions for me, don't hesitate to ask! If you ever want a carbon steel kwaiken, I'll be here waiting ;)

Thank you for those leads. I just contacted Carl Colson and BenR.T.

I'm hoping something will pan out soon. I've been searching for knifemakers for several hours now.
Had no idea it'd be such an exhausting work!

Well the good news is that you are in the right place. If you can't find someone on BF you probably won't find anyone anywhere else

Good luck!
