I have a hickory walking stick that I modified to accept attachments. You guys might find this useful.
At the butt end of the stick I rabbited out a small channel to accept a Recip saw blade that I ground the shaft to a rectangle to fit snug in the rabbit.
Grind the blade first so you can use it as the rabbit template.
I drilled 2 holes in the blade. Marked the shaft inside the rabbit and drilled the matching holes in the stick.
On the side opposite the rabbit I drilled countersinks in the holes and epoxyed 2 Stainless hex nuts in the holes. THe blade fits perfect in the rabbit and I attach it to the stick with 2 large head Stainlees pan head screws.
Easy to put on and take off as long as you are carrying a multitool with a phillips bit.
I carry the blade betweed the kydex liner and outer sheath of my Becker brute.
I also sharpened the top edge of the saw blade. It makes a good make shift spear and an excellent saw.
