Hey guys. I'm tired of walking around the house with the cordless phone held up to my head, and am in the market for a cordless phone with either a corded or bluetooth headset. You know what I mean? Just a home cordless phone with some kind of headset for hands free usage.

Here's about what I am looking for, though I would also be happy with a traditional cordless phone that has a headset jack: Plantronics ct14. Street price on this one is around $100.

Are there any other good option out there? Thanks.

If your just walking around/not wanting to hold the phone to your ear that might not be bad but from my time as a professional mechanic in a shop where it was only me, one other tech and one service writer running 6 bays I can tell you IMO any head set claiming to be "convertible" between over the ear and head-set won't be very good at either (and especially bad in over-the-ear config).

If your just gonna be standing/sitting around its probably ok but of your juggling kids/working out/ moving much at all expect that headset to suck. The most comfy style I've ever experienced are the behind the head ones, I have no idea the brand but they're the ones you see on TV in any sort of 911/sales call centers with the hollow tube that holds the mic wire.

That's the most help I can give, never in my adult life have I had a home phone.

That's a good thing to consider, Mr. Cheerios. I do though, spend much of my day with radio headphones or MP3 player headphones on, so I'm probably okay with the cheapy headphones configuration.

I grew up in the pre-cell phone age, so I do have a home phone. But were I buying my first house now, I probably would not have one. They are pretty much pointless and a waste of money, except for being a backup means of communication if cell service is down.

Panasonic DECT 6.0 Plus Expandable Cordless Phones are pretty good. They make a lot of different models with or without the answering machine and with multiples of extra handsets. Uses a relatively newer frequency (1.9Ghz) other than the overloaded 2.4Ghz channel.
Uses NiMH AAA batteries.
Has the standard jack for headsets. Panasonic makes a decent cheap one. Everyone's got them. Costco, Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. Read up the customer reviews.
