I'm starting up a new Tanto in 5/32" CPM-3V steel! Big respect to the late Phill Hartsfield for the inspiration... I like to give Phill credit any time I make one oif these. The design is thought of as an American style tanto but the lines are all traditional Japanese including the angular grind you still see on traditional Unagisaki today.

Chop time!

Knifeaker View! Grinding the tip.

I love this pommel style...

That's all for now, stay tuned for more!

Gonna be good, Daniel!
Yes, the Japanese had blades figured out many years ago.
Josh Mason is the new Hartsfield, imo.

Leather or kydex sheath?

Most likely Kydex but leather would be cool!

Ben- You need ONE fixed blade.

Someone needs to make a small fixed blade that you can fit in the pocket... it would be cool if somehow the blade could be sheathed on the scales. And put a pivot on it so it would be easy to open. Maybe some way it could lock into place? I'm going to go write this down. :D

That's a brilliant idea Daniel!!! Make sure you write it down in a piece of steel! :D

And I love to be the very first one to test drive that idea! :D

^ lol I probably deserved that!

Progress! I'm just gonna draw in the bevels and scales from now on, it is way easier. :D

Why are the holes uneven? Every other hole is a "glue rivet" hole so epoxy can pass through... I just drill them randomly after carefully marking and drilling the important ones.
