The 15 was the original Emerson I had wanted but ended up getting a vindicator and commander before I was able to acquire one. All 3 knives arrived with the pivot tight and needed to be tweaked, because of the single detent on the vindicator it opens the smoothest; I may need to oil and maintenance the other 2 to achieve the same action. Both the commander and vindi have lock stick issues but it is getting better with time, on the other hand the cqc-15 has a perfect lock with full engagement of the tang(?). It's tough to pick a faavorite, while like all of my Emersons, despite my original feelings, the vindicator is my current fav. But I really like the size of the 15, blade to handle seems more balanced. And the commander feels the best in my hand. All in all, the cqc-15 is another great addition to my arsenal and I am looking forward to acquiring a desert roadhouse, I think, but recommendations are welcome.

All great knives, really like the recurves. 15 was my first Emerson but of the three I prefer the commander.

Nice collection you got going...
I for one love the tiger and it has replaced my commander as my favorite folding knife, currently my desert roadhouse is battling for that second place spot with my commander an 8 but you can't go wrong with any EKI IMHO..

I would urge you to check out the limited editions first

The Roadhouse models are really great knives. My Super Roadhouse has seen the most carry time for me recently. The desert version would be a good choice for a next Emerson, but I prefer the stonewashed/black G10 myself.

Gee thanks guys! You got me on the 15 bandwagon, and I REALLY like it. I have both the PE and serrated stonewash versions, and between them and my Super Commander (another awesome knife, fits perfect and is impressive in its size) I thought I had the bases covered. :D

But now I hear how you guys feel about the Roadhouse. Why do you like the Roadhouse over the 15, or carry it more often? What is it about it?

The handle ergos on the Roadhouse are really good, one of the best designs in my book. Also the size of the super version fits my hand perfectly and the blade is actually very useful for my needs. It just really clicked with me and I've been carrying it a lot.

I'll add that the Roadhouses handle feels more "open" since it doesn't have the curved pommel that the CQC-15 has and I feel that I can get a better and more comfortable grip on the Roadie. If Emerson ever makes a Super CQC-15 I'll be first in line for it.

I've been trying out a lot of Emerson's designs lately. Started with the mini-15 and love it. Then I got a 7V, love it. Then got a mini-Roadhouse. Wasn't for me. The handle felt too short. The full size may be better. Then I got the full size 15, love it. Then I got a Commander, awesome! Added a Super Commander, 14 and 13. Just got the last 3 so haven't spent much time with them, but all great designs. I amazed at the ergos of all of them. Everyone likes different things though, so you really have to try for yourself. Right now my 3 favorites are the two 15s and my Commander.

One of my favorite things about EKI is that they offer so many different handle and blade combinations.

Check out a Horseman next:thumbup:

I just got my cqc 15 and I really like it. It will definitely be seeing some serious pocket time.

My Desert Roadhouse is one of my all time favorite Emersons.

I love the feel of the thicker tan scales & mine is super smooth.
