CQC-6 vs. CQC-7 ???

Can some of your more experienced Emerson afficianodos and/or more expert suspects help me in the differences between the two. I have never held a 6 yet know of their favorable renown. Is a current production 7 just about, almost kinda/sorta like a CQC-6 or am I just wishful and dreaming?

IMHO the prodo 7 does not even come close to the feel of a custom CQC6. The custom 7's are closer but i think the 6 has one of the best feels in the hand around. Other suspects, your opinions are requested.

Nimrod,
CQC7 has thicker different handle design.
It allows for what some feel is more positional control during weapon/shock impact. The contour of the handles/scales allows for more pressure w/ pinky, ringfinger and forefinger. Thus affording more positional control. I like them both and really have no preference. Originally the CQC 7 was 3.45" and the CQC 6 was 3.25" per catalog specs.
Some CQC 7's have a 3.25" Blade.

Play w/ both and determine what your preferences are.

Hope that helps...

Let's start off with "Custom v Production". Beyond the obvious of one being made by hand and the other an assembly line CNC manufacturered knife, the Custoom CQC7 and the Production CQC7B feel and look substantially different. CQC7 with CQC7B

Here is a sheet from an Emerson Specwar Knives catalog that will show the specs and outlines of the CQC6 and the CQC7 Catalog Notice in the drawing the original CQC7 blade profile. If you look at more recent examples you will notice that the custom CQC7s have a CQC6 blade profile.

John, Is there anything Emerson you don't know or have immediate archival resource to?

Actually I was a little slow, I had to move a picture.

While I appreciate the complement, Tamishigiri, Nyeti, Jbravo and Derek are infinitely more knowledgeable then myself. When I have a question, I run to them. (but I do have them beat in the picture department

I am just a little worker ant who can only dream of one having the knowledge of the above listed Suspects...

It is great to know you all and to have found this place.
