Credit card knife and/or multi-purpose tool.

I have recently been intrigued by the ingenuity, imagination, and design of these. I am having a tough time coming up with a thread on BF when using the search.

I believe Beretta makes just a simple when folded Credit card knife and SOG has a credit card multi-purpose tool with like 9 functions.

Has anybody ever used one of these? Is there anyone out there with good reviews? Are there any other higher end examples out and availible for purchase?

I am not really looking for a multipurpose tool as those seem to get a bit on the thicker end, more just a knife like the Beretta example but actual worth a darn.

Thanks

Iain Sinclair makes an interesting Card-Knife.
I made a review of a Iain Sinclair CardSharp 2 on my blog some time ago: http://gearforedc.blogspot.com/2015/05/spamcorps-iain-sinclair-cardsharp-2-and.html
There is also the Victorinox SwissCard range (http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=SwissCard) and Tool Logic (http://www.toollogic.com/multi-tools.html) makes some nice card tools as well

I also had a Chinese Knock-off ages ago: http://gearforedc.blogspot.com/2014/11/12-in-1-credit-card-size-pocket.html

The only one I'd truly recommend is the Victorinox one.. the rest are.. meh...

Thank you for the links and knowledge...

I was pretty wrong in the first place with the beretta and SOG references and implying they were the manufacturers. :mushroom: It seems both of those companies websites just sell a model of the Ian Sinclair design and Tool Logics with their company logo or stamp on it.

The Victorinix Swiss Card looks interesting and its amazing the creativeness that would have to be involved in the design.

The only drawback in mind or interests is the the card itself serves no purpose other than as a carry case. At least with the Ian Sinclair design you use the entire thing as one tool. Maybe I am being confusing or maybe it was a passion for transformers at a young age :o . My love of knives or multi-tools is their infinite uses while being a single tool confined tool. I don't want to lose parts or pieces.

I have one of the toollogic cards, and its alright for what it is. Although plastic tweezers are pretty pointless.

Check your local laws on them though, some places and countries treat them as a "disguised weapon"

toollogic is fine
the swiss card has a pretty tiny blade.
but those sin clair knock offs
are wobbly.
imho, it would be better served with
heavy duty industrial razor blades.
