Looking for a good, readily available alternative to CRK's flourinated grease. Not so much because I care about the cost or size of the tube, but I don't want to wait for it to get shipped to me. So I ask, anyone have a good, readily available (from Walmart, Autozone, etc.) alternative that they have personally used? TIA!!!

Did a search here on the forum and came up with White lithium grease. should be readily available at most hardware stores, Lowes, home Depot ect.
Hope this helps.

If you have a decent bicycle store near you they will have Teflon grease (finish line brand etc) in various qualities and quantities, that is either similar, or identical to the CRK product. Be reminded that CRK does not make that grease, they are just repackaging and rebranding it, so there's a good chance you'll be buying the same product, in a larger quantity, for less money.

Finish line 'extreme flouro' is a very similar product, maybe even the same product. It Google's. Its made by Dupont, so even finish line is rebranding it.

I have tried several different lubes in my sebbie. Finally ordered some crk grease and there is a world of difference between crk and standard oils and lithium grease, IMO.

I've been using CRK grease for years. I recently switched to the finish line flouro grease and it does the same job and comes in a nice syringe container. I highly recommend it.

I don't take mine apart very often, but I've used different brands of lip balm with very good results. Beeswax lip balm and Carmex brand have both been very good, in my experience.

I use nano oil on mine and have been very happy with it. I can only compare it to CRK's grease that came with the knives when new. I prefer nano oil so far. Also I really like flipe8's suggestion, might have to try it out.

I also use nano oil instead of grease. You have to be sparing with it so it doesn't attract dust, but it makes the action very smooth.

You can also try any high-temp gun grease as well, Wilson Combat makes one. I've lubricated with oil and grease. I think the only real difference is the hi-temp grease migrates less so it picks up less lint than lighter oils/greases that tend to creep out from the washers to collect lint. Aside from that there are no special requirements as the parts are neither moving at high speed gaining heat nor are they putting tons of pressure on the moving surfaces . . . unless of course you like to snap it open 5,000 times a minute.

I put about four to six pin-sized drops on each washer, just enough to hold it to the blade for reassembly.

Frog Lube anyone? Anyone ever tried it on the Seb pivot? I've used it on just about everything else with good results.

Yeah!! I use it and it way beyond awesome. I dis assemble my knife, wipe it down and the washers. Heat the parts up with a hair dryer, swab on the Frog lube, let it cool down. Wipe dry the parts with the cloth and reassemble. No wet oil or grease for lint and such to adhere to. Unbelievable action!!!!!!!

Sounds like it works the same way Militec-1 does.

I use Daiwa Reel Oil on all my knives except for my Sebbies. On those I use the Finish Line Extreme Fluoro grease. That said, I have run the Daiwa in my small Sebbie... and it works very well too.
