Spending weekend at the cabin and had time to kill after chores were done. So, I built a new light box for knife photography. I used the model posted by Coop and I think it turned out good. Unfortunately, I forgot my good camera so these are still taken with Ipad.

Beautiful ... I was just talking with my good buddy Dennis about how since I do not have a lightbox, I have a very small time window during the morning, when the light is good and not too harsh, to take my pics.

Excellent stuff!

Wow, nicely done. I can't believe you got the camera on the iPad to actually take nice pictures. :p

That bottom honduran sebenza! I want that! I'm jealous. Very nice pattern on that one, nice photos!

Very nice. I have to get around to making myself one of these. Who's Coop?

What stunning pictures, esp. considering that they were taken with an Ipad. Feel free to link said post, where build instructions are provided?

Coop is a well known professional knife photographer. "SharpByCoop" He posts frequently on BF and most of the custom makers use him to shoot their knives. His photography is stunning. He posted a how-to-build a basic lightbox/tent for under $75.

I built mine for cheeper than that. Posterboard, ducktape, sheer window cover. Coop provides plans to build a stand for the lights out of pvc. However, if you are at a cabin in the woods and no one is looking, you can just put bar stools on your dinning room table and clip the lights to those :)

One of the most important things in photography is lighting, not the camera and you got good lighting there. Thanks for sharing.
