This is going to be a quick comparison review between the CRKT Drifter (G10 model) and the Sanrenmu 763 (G10 model) ,you decide which is better.

CRKT Drifter Specs:
Blade Length: 2.8 Inches
Blade Steel: 8Cr14MoV
Blade Grind: Mid Hollow
Handle Length: 3.6 Inches
Handle Material: G10

Sanrenmu 763 Specs:

Blade Steel 8Cr13MoV
Blade Grind: High Hollow
Handle Length: 3.7 Inches

As you can see the Drifter has an organically shaped drop point blade VS the 763 which has a broader drop point blade

Both knives use the same thumbstuds and both have jimping but the Drifter's is more effective

Both knives have G10 handles however this 763's provides more traction

Both knives are the same thickness however the 763 carries lower in pocket offering left and right hand tip up carry where as the Drifter only offers right hand tip down

So which is better for the money? You be the judge

Why not compare the Sanrenmu Drifter to the CRKT Drifter?

Apples to apples and such......... LOL

I do like the blade shape on that Drifter. Looks like a realy light weight "gentlemanish" look to it. tip down carry.
763 looks to be the over all better built knife. More material, and pivot lock, blade probably takes a sharper edge. Tip up carry, I like that. I would take the 763, and with the extra 5bucks I could stop by the chevron and mix up a brass monkey

Both made in China.

Like the iPhone and our computers.
The quality of both knives is nice. Good quality (at the price) products with deserve success, no matter where they are made.

To me, the steel (8Cr13MoV) is good enough for my EDC purpose (urban, office setting).

What do you use your Sanrenmu for? Just want to know the experience that makes you say it's not good.

Wow this is good . Ever since I started to buy more expensive knives I haven't carried any of these two . It's been a while since . The Drifter was my first pocket knife and it was given to me as a Christmas gift . I love it and the sanrenmu I bought I like this blade to a lot of fun my first axis lock great deal for the money . They are both great knife at there price . IMHO it's a draw .

YMBO55- Your English is fine. Don't ask to hear my Chinese though. Just curious as I thought the Drifter was USA made, I have one and love it. I gave 2 of them to teenagers as gift.

I've got the stainless steel handled framelock version of the Drifter. Between that and the SRM-763, I prefer the Sanrenmu over the CRKT. It's lighter, the Axis lock on it works well, the larger belly provides a good cutting area, and the lack of recurve makes it easier to sharpen. That, and it has the bottle opener tang when closed. I don't care for the slotted metal lanyard hole at the base (the metal edges dig into the palm of your hand if you are gripping tightly), but everything else about the knife is good.

Bought the 763 awhile ago, paid $6.00 for it, and $6.50 to ship it from overseas. Solid little knife, wicked sharp. One of the pocket clip screws was cross threaded really bad, but I tossed it in my range bag to use on the range cutting targets and tape etc. No a bad little cutter at all.

I have the CRKT Drifter in G10. I absolutely love the knife! I used it a lot, and for everything. From gutting fish, preparing food, cutting rope, rubber, wood, bait, cardboard, everything. It gets scary sharp on a lansky multistone sharpener, and stays sharp for a very decent amount of time. I wasn't shy to give the blade a few strokes on a suitable quartz arenite (type of sandstone) rock, and got a hair shaving sharp edge on it easily. It was my first G10 scaled knife, and I was quite skeptical at first of G10, but I really like the material. Grippy and tough. The lock is more than strong enough for what the knife is meant to be used for. Don't hammer the back of it with a rock and moan when it breaks, that's abuse, not use... It was my first CRKT knife, and definitely won't be my last! I really like CRKT after getting the drifter, and I'm planning on getting a good fixed blade CRKT soon. So what if it's made in China? The drifter is a high quality knife for a good price. I had a Buck knife made in the USA for nearly twice the price and it didn't impress me at all. I had a look at another Buck fixed blade knife (some sort of bait knife) and the blade had a wiggle in it. Wasn't impressed. I'm not from the USA, I'm from South Africa, the Okapi nation ;) , so not biased towards either China or the USA... Overall, love the Drifter, and defintely like CRKT. Great EDC user knife! Don't have the Sanrenmu, so can't comment on it
