I've found a pretty good deal locally on these 2 knives and they're running for the same price. I'm having trouble deciding which I should get.

I like the look, flipper and size on the M16 but the blade steel is AUS4 and the handles are zytel.

The IgnitorT on the other hand has 8CR14MOV steel, Outburst AO, Firesafe locking and G10 scales but I'm not into the look as much and it's .75in smaller.

I'm leaning towards the Ignitor but I was hoping I could get some opinions here. I'd be thankful for any help.

Running the same price at... Lowes?:p The Ignitor is great for the money, the lock is rock solid, A/O is fast, and it's a decent size. 8cr14 is better that AUS 4, and I also prefer g-10 to zytel. It also has the teflon coating, where as I believe the M-16 is bead blasted; which will be a rust magnet.

I own an Ignitor and I have to say it's one of my favorites even if I don't carry it so often anymore. It's got a nice weight and even when I use it for long periods I've never felt any hotspots. I've also been really impressed with how well the 8cr14 holds its edge even with some moderate use. Lockup is still solid as the day I bought it and the A/O
still flicks the blade out wicked fast once you're used to the Firesafe.

I haven't personally handled an M16 so I can't compare, but for the price the Ignitor is a great knife.

I personally don't trust the CRKT m16 I have the tanto version and when I open it the liner lock will get jammed and require me to get a coin or screw driver to pry it free so I can then disengage the safety than close the knife. Only time this doesn't happen is if I open the knife very gently. Same story with my brother who got the spear point version a long time before I got my tanto but not as drastic.

Damn, yeah that is unfortunate.

Both are good.
I love my M16ZER.

Yeah I like the M16-ZER. Better steel and I love the orange scales. But the M16-03Z just has a steel I don't really trust. AUS4 just doesn't cut it for me. I think the ZER is discontinued now too.
