The CRKT MinimalX is based on a knife design Darriel Caston did commemorating the launch of a SpaceX rocket. He called that model the SpaceX.
Apparently this caught the eye of someone at SpaceX, and they had him design a very similar knife for possbile use by SpaceX crews. So, I guess it was going be a space knife.
The CRKT MinimalX has a steel framelock rather the snazzy titanium of the Caston custom ones, but is considerably cheaper and easier to find.
I mentioned I thought it looked kind of neat, so my wife bought me one for Christmas.
I spotted a distant cousin of it in the wild...a Cybertruck!
See the resemblance?

I made a video of my initial impressions, along with what needed to be changed for me to consider it a viable EDC knife.
You can see how it was at first, and how it ended up after slight modification.
If you don't mind a bit of Dremel work, I think it can make a fine EDC knife for many folks.
