Needs words rather than just a link to a YouTube video.

CRKT has a reputation for not quite living up to themselves.

They were my first foray into "expensive" knives, and for context, "expensive" meant $80 at the time. I've owned something like twenty over the years, and I still have a few.

My experience is that their quality control and materials use is generally acceptable, except for the heat treat. No matter which model you buy, there is a one in twenty chance that the blade simply will not get sharp.

One thing they are known for is working with a lot of custom makers, and lately they've been trying to expand in the "gear and lifestyle" space, putting more emphasis on camping equipment that doesn't include a cutting edge, and of course, apparel.

Collectively, this checkered reputation leads to the perception that CRKT has lost their way, and that their marketing and accounting departments (they are also notorious in the least five years or so for optimistic MSRPs) are making promises that their manufacturing facilities cannot keep up with. Time will tell of course, but for the moment, they are looking more like a future acquisition for Taylor Brands, than a worthy competitor for Benchmade....

Edit: Might be fairer to call them a competitor for Kershaw.

Well, it ain't no Sebenza...ha.ha.ha.
I will still defend this little gem.
Along with my Kershaw Cannonball, these are current styles & fun.
I would not mourn them if I lost it...just sayin, I could do worse.

Reid27, any chance you can write down something about the knife instead of dropping a link to a you tube video?
