When I first took this knife out of the box, I was surprised by how light it was. The camo handle looks great and fits very well in my hand. I flipped the blade out using the flipper and I was slightly disappointed by how it didn't flip all the way open. It takes a flick of the wrist to assist opening it fully. First I cut open the rest of my mail with it and it glided through the envelopes effortlessly. Next I carved up an empty milk jug and again, it glided through the plastic with ease. Next I viciously attacked a heavy cardboard box and it worked better than any of my other pocket knives. With the blade open I bounced it down my basement stairs, ending up on a thin rug on the concrete below. No damage to the knife at all, and it still opens and closes normally. This is an excellent knife that I would recommend to anyone looking for a quality blade for hunting or everyday use. Initially I thought the price tag was a little steep, but after getting my hands on it, I would say that it is a good knife for the price.

How's the lock up on yours? I've seen a couple reviews where the bar goes halfway across or more. :(

G. Scott H., I assume you mean the bar that holds the blade in place while open. (Sorry, I am not a knife lingo expert) The bar does go about halfway across, but not any further than that. I've never had it get stuck, and it is still very easy to close with one hand.

Yep, that's what I was asking about. Thanks for the info. I didn't notice that was your first post or I would have said lock bar or something of the sort. :o As long as the lock is solid, how far across the tang it goes is really personal preference (as long as it doesn't go all the way across and touch the liner on the other side :grumpy:), but I prefer it when it doesn't go any more than about 25% of the way across when new, based upon the idea that it'll give longer life that way, since it has more room to move as the parts wear. Anyhow, thanks again, and welcome aboard.:cool:

try adding some lube to the pivot and that may improve the flipping action
I liked the knife a lot when I handled it (aluminum version) but never got one simply b/c I hate sharpening recurves

What I've found is that quality control on the shenanigan is all over the board, the one I bought has been one of the smoothest knives that I own with an almost perfect lock up while the one that my brother bought is very stiff, it locks up way too early, and the secondary bevel wasn't even so it seems that this knife is really hit and miss.
