Off the wall question here, my fiance asked me and I could not answer it. Who made the knife for the movie croc dundee, and where can I find a picture of it.

The conversation started when she saw my new NM FBM by Busse Combat.

Well the problem is they used different knives in different movies.

I believe one of the knives used was made by Linder Messer.

The originals were made by a Australian gunsmith/knifemaker by the name of John Bowring. The design is based on a few knives, the most visible is the larger Puma Bowie that was offered for a time. I also see a bit of a Remington influence in the handle.

As mentioned, Linder makes a nice copy as their Crocodile Bowie.

Granny Re-Creates
Crocodile Dundee Scene
to See Off Knife-Wielding Burglar

An 80-year-old woman revealed today how she re-created a
famous scene from the film Crocodile Dundee to tackle a knife-
wielding burglar.

Winifred Whelan, from Liverpool, woke up to find a man in a hoodie
standing over her bed brandishing a knife and demanding money.

The terrified pensioner managed to run downstairs where she grabbed
a 14-inch carving knife from the kitchen and shouted at the thug:
"That's not a knife, this is a knife."

Mrs Whelan was quoting the famous line from Crocodile Dundee when
the film's hero brandishes a hunting knife at a mugger.

She said: "I've seen Crocodile Dundee, but I wasn't thinking about
that at the time.

See entire story, July 2004, here.

Great story from the U.K. Mail Online News. Actually, I'm surprised she didn't end up in prison! It's against the law to harm criminals in defense of one's own life there.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that two knives were made for the film by an Australian maker (No doubt the one already mentioned). One knife was kept by Paul Hogan and the other was put in a film museum type place.
Don't take this a gospel though, as it was a long time ago, and I have the memory of a goldfish.
