Hey there, welcome to the forums. I'm a newbie myself. As to your question, I've heard that the bowie knife used in Crocodile Dundee was a modified Puma bowie. Not 100% sure. Hope this helps out some.

The crocodile Dundee knife was definately not a Puma bowie.
The Puma bowie is just 5.5 inch long, the crocodile dundee sword about 8 or 9.

Are you talking about the knife in the new movie? If so, I'll have to pass because I haven't seen it yet. If you are talking about the original I believe it was made by an Australian custom maker just for the movie. I may have thay wrong, maybe it was the prop shop but in any case I think it was made just for the film. I'm thinking if it was a custom maker he would have try to cash in at least a little bit like Jimmy Lile did with the Rambo knives.

Ugh. You've got a point there Tyr. I think it was a bowie from Frost CUtlery now that I think about it. Anybody know for sure? Now I'm curious. Haha.

The Bowie in the film was made by an Australian maker specifically for the film. Thats all I know.I believe there is a thread in the archives where his name is mentioned.

The knife for the original movie was made by a fellow named John Bowring, a craftsman from Oz

Have you seen the commercials for his new movie? He has a massive clip point folder that almost looks like a Spanish navaja, but is of lockback design.

I saw the movie, big mistake.

As for the knives, he has a mega folder sorta like a Buck 110 with a 7 inch blade.

His old knife has a new handle, looks like a composite wood handle instead of the old stacked leather. That thing is heavy looking, probably 3/8" stock.
