Ok folks , did a search on Google and on here but couldnt really find my amswer.
What is the proper way to use Crocus cloth when trying to polish a blade ? Do you need to wet it first ?
Doesnt seem to me like it does much.....

Crocus cloth is iron oxide particles. It's a final polishing material, usually. Not really going to do much, just smooth out the finish, sort of "blending" it.

The stuff on the paper may not be much harder than your blade, so it doesn't cut.

BTW, there's coarse, medium, fine, so if you have fine you may as well be....well. ;)

It is used wet, and in addition to iron oxide like jewelers rouge, it also has silicon oxide in the binder.
Kind of tough to get a polish on flats with it, even when backed with a hard block., but if you've got the time...

Thanks guys :) I figured it might not do much from what I've used of it thus far.
Thanks again
